Hello

I’m Nicola and I’ve been through a tough time feeding my son, Little T. It’s been a long journey of ups and downs and a LOT of hard work!

That is why I trained as an Infant Feeding Coach and created Feed and Nourish; to help others resolve or avoid similar difficulties.

What is an ‘Infant Feeding Coach’?

Infant Feeding just means feeding your baby milk - whether that is breast milk or formula, by breastfeeding or bottles, or a combination!

As a Coach, I will be there to provide guidance and support on all of these options.

Let me tell you a bit more about myself…

My career before involved roles centred on providing advice and problem-solving, so after adding specialist infant feeding training, Feed and Nourish is a natural step!

I have personally explored lots of challenges such as tongue-tie, reflux, allergies, weight loss and a slow start to solids. I spent so much money on products I didn’t need, and then I found the right advice.

My biggest passions right now are my son, of course, and infant feeding! My favourite things probably represent me as a person well: spreadsheets, biscuits and slippers. Now I’m a Mum, I’d add a floor bed and a carrier!

What can you expect from my support?

  • Tailored, 1:1 advice

Before I gave birth I took an antenatal class on breastfeeding, but once I was experiencing problems I realised I needed advice specific to my situation, not just more information to read.

  • In-person guidance

I sought 1:1 advice but it was online or over the phone. They were kind, reassuring and knowledgeable, but they couldn’t observe up-close and provide hands-on guidance.

  • Skilled, evidence-based knowledge

I had 1:1, in-person support in hospital, from Midwives and Health Visitors but they didn’t have in-depth infant feeding training and the basic advice didn’t fit me and my baby.

  • A comfortable space

I was signposted to breastfeeding support groups but in the initial postpartum period, I was tender, both physically and emotionally. I did not feel able to travel to or walk into a group of people I didn’t know.

  • Time to listen

This is something our NHS services and wonderful voluntary organisations just don’t have enough of to go around. As Feed and Nourish is a private practice, you can choose how much time you need.

I trained as an Infant Feeding Coach/Breastfeeding Counsellor with the Infant Feeding Academy

I am accredited and insured with FEDANT Registration no. 13653

Does this sound like the kind of support you are looking for?
